Inflammation Digital Biomarkers Validation study begins recruitment on 20 August 2026
Recruitment for the Inflammation Digital Biomarkers Validation (IDBV) study, part of the iPROLEPSIS project, has opened on 20 August 2026. This is a major milestone for iPROLEPSIS.
Some people with psoriasis go on to develop psoriatic arthritis, which can affect the joints and tendons. Researchers want to understand whether changes in movement, activity, and symptoms can be detected earlier using digital information collected through a study app.
The IDBV study aims to support earlier detection and improve future care.
How it works
The IDBV study uses the miPROLEPSIS Lite app to passively collect data from participants' smartphones and smartwatches over 12 months. The app tracks movement patterns, activity levels, and device usage — most of it automatically. Participants can also report joint symptoms directly when they experience discomfort.
Scope and participants
The study aims to recruit approximately 3,500 participants from across Europe who are enrolled in the HIPPOCRATES Prospective Observational Study (HPOS), have psoriasis, and do not have a psoriatic arthritis diagnosis.
