Inflammation Digital Biomarkers Validation (IDBV) Study

Help us understand early signs of psoriatic arthritis

Welcome!

You are being invited to learn more about the IDBV Study because you are already making a vital contribution to research by taking part in the HIPPOCRATES Prospective Observational Study (HPOS).

The IDBV study is exploring whether information from your smartphone (and smartwatch, if you have one) could help researchers detect early changes linked to psoriatic arthritis.

Who can take part?

You may be able to join if you:

  • Are already taking part in HPOS

  • Have psoriasis

  • Do not have psoriatic arthritis

  • Have a smartphone compatible with the study app

  • Are willing to use the study app

Taking part in the study

If you're interested in joining the study, we'll first ask you a few questions to check if you are eligible to take part. You'll then be able to read more detailed information about the study.

If, after reading this information, you are happy to take part, you will be asked to complete an electronic consent form to confirm that you understand the study and agree to participate.

If you choose to join, you'll be asked to download and use the miPROLEPSIS Lite app on your smartphone for up to 12 months.

Designed to fit into real life: The app collects most of the information needed for the study automatically, so there is very little for you to do. If you have a compatible smartwatch, you can also choose to connect it to the app, but this is completely optional.

Why this study matters?

Some people with psoriasis go on to develop psoriatic arthritis, which can affect the joints and tendons.

Researchers want to understand whether changes in movement, activity, and symptoms can be detected earlier using digital information collected through a study app.

This study aims to support earlier detection and improve future care. It forms part of iPROLEPSIS, a major international collaboration funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, bringing together leading researchers across the UK and Europe to advance digital innovation in psoriatic arthritis care.

Before you decide

Taking part in IDBV is voluntary. If you decide not to take part, this will not affect your participation in HPOS or your care.

Before deciding, you can read more about the study and what it involves in the Participant Information Sheet.

Ready to continue?

The next step is a quick eligibility check to confirm if the IDBV study is a good fit for you. It should only take a few minutes.
