The project and the iPROLEPSIS Games were presented, highlighting their relevance for digital health innovation
Filipa Magalhães from Faculdade de Motricidade Humana/ Instituto Superior Técnico presented the iPROLEPSIS project and the iPROLEPSIS Games at the TeraMed Conference 2026, held on 16 April 2026 in Angola.
The conference brought together various stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities of implementing digital solutions in healthcare, particularly in the Angolan context.
During the event, Filipa Magalhães presented the iPROLEPSIS project and the iPROLEPSIS Games, highlighting their objectives and innovative approach. Given the limited availability of psoriatic arthritis-related data in Angola and other African countries, she emphasised the project’s potential to support the development of digital health solutions through a gamified approach, especially in regions with one of the youngest populations in the world.
The co-creation methodology used in the development of the iPROLEPSIS Games was also showcased as a strong example for developers, reinforcing the importance of involving users from the early stages in order to better address real needs and increase patient engagement.
As part of the event, Filipa Magalhães also gave an interview to RTP Africa, where she discussed the complexity of psoriatic arthritis and explained how this led to the creation of different game categories addressing various symptoms within the iPROLEPSIS Games. The interview also highlighted the potential impact of digital health interventions in this area.
